This project involved bulk excavation and earthworks to facilitate the construction of an 850-space park and ride facility and an attenuation pond on the A40 in Oxford to help improve congestion on the A40 and provide regular and reliable public transport services into the city.
To meet the client’s programme, the earthworks began on site in January, so extensive planning and materials management was required throughout the project.
3D models were produced by our in house team to guide completion of the earthworks, and we developed and implemented advanced ITP and quality assurance systems to aid progressive assurance throughout the construction phase.
Our exemplary Health, Safety and Wellbeing performance was commended by our client, Balfour Beatty, and we won their UK Construction Services Supply Chain Health and Safety Award. The judges were particularly impressed with our H&S planning during the ECI phase, and how we embedded Balfour Beatty’s observation procedures into our own procedures on site, creating a seamless reporting system with our client.
