The MJ Church Launchpad
At MJ Church, we’re passionate about helping young people explore career opportunities within construction, engineering and infrastructure. We have recently launched our MJ Church Launchpad Early Careers page, designed to support students as they begin thinking about their future pathways.
Alongside information about apprenticeships, work experience and career opportunities, Launchpad also includes practical guidance to help students prepare for employment, including:
- Tips onwriting strong CVs
• Guidance onunderstanding job descriptions
• Advice on preparing for interviews
• Insights into the skills employers are looking for
• Opportunities to hear directly from people working in the industry
The MJ Church Academy
In 2016 we partnered with Wiltshire College to create the MJ Church Academy which aims to develop and train the next generation of Civil Engineers, Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors by providing high-quality workplace visits with stimulating and challenging practical and theoretical workshops. Students on the Academy learn how to sustainably design, construct and build infrastructure such as roads, bridges, railways, harbours and tunnels, learning to find solutions to diverse problems in a safe and environmentally appropriate way.
Upon graduation, students have the opportunity to apply for full time apprenticeships with MJ Church and since 2016 we’ve employed 23 Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying Graduates. For more information, or to apply for a place, please visit the Wiltshire College website.
