The safety, Health & Wellbeing of our employees, Sub-Contractors, third parties and members of the public is our top priority, to ensure that everyone may go home, safe and well every day.
It is a focus to ensure that Our acts and omissions are evaluated and we strive to create an environment where risk is assessed and controlled, thereby providing a safe and productive workplace.
Among our senior leadership team, we place an enthesis on just that “being a leader”, one who leads by example; Inspiring, mentoring and upskilling our workforce to be champions in terms of Health, Safety, Environmental & Wellbeing.
Our HSE department work closely with our operations teams, within all stages of our operations to ensure that the company, contract and statutory requirements are understood and implemented, with a focus on excelling in delivery.
Management System and Accreditations
We have a formal Health & Safety Management System accredited to ISO 45001:2018.
We hold accreditations with the following schemes;
- Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS)
- Safety Management Advisory Services Ltd (SMAS)
- Constructionline Gold
- Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS)
- Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS)
A learning organisation
We use learning events, in a positive and proactive manner, undertaking root cause analysis to define meaningful “root, underlining and immediate causes”, defining our recommendation and subsequent actions plans to prevent reoccurrence.
Health & Safety Observations
MJ Church operates an online system for Health & Safety Observations. The systems send’s alerts direct to the Health & Safety Team who respond in the appropriate way. Observations provide a valuable insight into activities and enable to the company to resound quickly to issues and guide Health & Safety training.
